Visiting Authors Series Presents Brian Bradford Wed., May 1

Novelist and WCCC Faculty Member

Brian Bradford

to Present at Warren County Community College

On Wednesday, May 1

The Warren County Community College Visiting Authors Series continues on Wednesday, May 1, with a reading by the novelist Brian Bradford, who teaches at Warren Community College and will soon retire after 31 years. This event, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in room 123A, is free and open to the public.

Brian Bradford Brian Bradford is a recipient of the Henfield Transatlantic Review Award for Fiction and has published work in national and international publications including Black Ice (FC2), The Literary Review, and Serving House Books. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a full professor at Warren County Community College. His novel, Greetings From Gravipause (Jaded Ibis Press), was published in 2015. About the book, novelist Ellen Akins writes, “Whether it’s a fully realized, multi-faceted musical composition or a unique universe, or both, in Greetings from Gravipause, Brian Bradford has crafted a whole world, at once familiar and strange, out of language very much his own, and now ours—which is what we ask of art.”

Opening for Bradford will be nine students who are part of this semester’s Advanced Creative Writing Workshop at WCCC: Jennifer Burns, Dakota Christiano, Carla Ciceran, James Fox, Mary Hochadel, Al Kita, Danny O’Neill, Sarah Pene and Sammy Rush. Each will read briefly to celebrate the work that has been created by WCCC students this academic year.

Bradford’s reading will be followed by a brief Q & A with the audience and a book signing.  Books will be available for purchase at the event.

The Visiting Authors Series is supported by a grant from the Warren County Division of Cultural & Heritage Affairs. All physical site facilities comply with ADA regulations and are fully accessible. Sign language interpretation for any VAS event is available with two weeks’ notice.
