Tuition-Free Options are Available

More than any other year, a College education is affordable for all, thanks to both state and federal initiatives to help families.

Complete Your FAFSA

All students intending to pursue a degree program are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The FAFSA can be completed at www.studentaid.gov.   The NJ Alternative Application, allows New Jersey Dreamers to be considered for state financial aid.

Based on your FAFSA or your NJ Alternative Application data, you may be eligible for the following programs:  Federal Pell Grants, State Tuition Aid Grants, Educational Opportunity Program Grant and the latest NJ Program:  Community College Opportunity Grants (CCOG).  Together, these programs comprise New Jersey’s “College Promise.”

The College Promise

The College Promise is New Jersey’s effort to provide students with family incomes up to $100,000 with grant funding.  Successful students can transfer to four-year public colleges in New Jersey and receive additional benefits through the Garden State Guarantee program.

For students may just miss qualifying for Pell or TAG funding because they are earning incomes above eligibility thresholds, New Jersey has now put in place the CCOG program.  This program supports tuition and fee costs at community colleges and has been referred to as “free community college for those making under $65,000 per year.  Partial CCOG benefits now extend up to income levels of $100,000.

Eligibility for these funds is determined through the FAFSA or the NJ Alternative Application.  Start your application now and see if you are eligible for assistance in paying for college!

Contact the financial aid office at [email protected] if you have any questions on any financial aid programs or the financial aid process.
