Continuing Education for Massage Therapists


This course will focus on the special needs of the pregnant woman. Some client benefits include reduction of fatigue, stress, and swelling of feet and ankles. In addition prenatal massage may improve circulation to mother and baby, reduce stress on the weight bearing joints and increase relaxation. Indications and contraindications will be discussed, as well as proper massage techniques and positioning of your pregnant client. Must be familiar with Swedish massage. Open to all healthcare professionals working with pregnant women, massage therapists and massage students. Please bring a set of twin sheets, 3 pillows, small hand towel and a throw blanket. Certificate of completion awarded for 4 contact hours.


Chair massage is the application of massage techniques while the client is seated. This can be done using a special massage chair or seated in a chair or wheelchair. Course includes a routine which can be modified for different seated positions and marketing your massage to businesses. Prerequisite: LMT or students who already have basic knowledge of massage. Dress comfortably. Certificate of completion awarded.


Learn a whole body Shiatsu protocol and continue to refine this method by focusing on learning and treating meridian channels and point locations. Using traditional and Zen shiatsu principles this course establishes a strong foundation in shiatsu techniques and theory plus the development of personal and professional skills. You will learn a Hara assessment and body evaluation. Open to anyone 18 years or older. This course requires 10 documented practice sessions outside of class. Students must bring comforter or exercise mat and small pillow. Certificate of completion awarded.


This comprehensive 40-hour course will give you the skills to give a full basic shiatsu session. Focusing on the energy flows of the 12 meridians and acupressure points (tsubos), you will learn basic Yin/Yang and 5 Elements theory, plus use of Hara assessment. This interactive and hands on course will focus on practice, proper body mechanics, and treating with the meridians. Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork based on the ideas of Chinese Medicine. Shiatsu stimulates the body’s vital energy, known as Ki or Qi, which can help harmonize the vitality and life force of the body and mind. Benefits include reducing stress, anxiety, back pain and body aches to name a few. Practiced without oils and through light, comfortable clothing, it incorporates mindful pressure, along the energy channels and points, plus rotating and stretching techniques. Open to anyone 18 years and above; for sharing with friends and family or use in a massage practice. Bring a sheet, pillowcase and small pillow.


Experience using a pendulum to connect with the energy centers in our bodies known as “Chakras.” By using essential oils, you can restore balance to these centers and tap into the vast wisdom of subtle energies and vibrations that reside within. This is a great class for all body workers and those interested in essential oils and their subtle properties. The instructor will have a supply of pendulums to use, or bring your favorite to class. There is a small material fee of $10.00 payable to instructor on the first night of class. Open to anyone 18 yrs or older.

This course will explore “the natural laws of health” from sunshine to rest, fresh air, water and exercise and how these elements play a role in one’s health status and disease prevention. This course will also provide basic nutritional requirements of the body and how that relates to overall wellness. Open to anyone 18 years of age or older.


Learn the healing techniques of hot stone massage. This class is open to anyone who has completed or is currently attending a massage therapy certificate program. Therapists will learn to use the powerful restorative properties of smooth basalt stones heated to melt adhesions in fascia and connective tissue. Wear comfortable attire. Please bring bath towel and 2 sheets/ blanket. Open to all Certified Massage Therapists.

Continuing Education for Professional Nurses (license renewal)


This 16-hour program is designed to introduce healthcare professionals to phlebotomy skills. The program allows nurses, CMA’s, patient care technicians and other healthcare professionals to acquire the additional skills needed for employment that requires veni/ dermal punctures. Both the theory and technique of venipuncture and dermal punctures will be covered allowing time for simulated lab. Requirements: Must be a health care professional requiring venipuncture skills for employment. Medical lab assistants, LPN’s, RN’s, CMA’s, CNA’s, EMT’s, Dialysis technicians and student/graduate nurses welcome.

This course is appropriate for health professionals who are involved in the care of patients with acute and chronic wounds. The program reviews basic wound care concepts and best practice standards. Additionally, this course is intended to meet the educational needs of professionals who see wound care patients in a variety of care settings including: hospital based clinic, outpatient clinic, office based practice, inpatient service, home care, urgent care clinic, or emergency department.


This comprehensive cardiac course is for all levels of healthcare practitioners from LPN to Advanced Practice. This program will provide a comprehensive overview of pathophysiology and disease, treatment modalities from angioplasty to bypass, and move into understanding the relationship of normal and abnormal rhythms. Opportunities for simulation with case studies will be provided from basic to acute situations creating a mock code scenario as well.

Contact hours are approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission Accreditation.

Continuing Education for Teachers


Learn the essentials of this unique language through engaging lessons, memory building techniques, drills, music, games, and more. Some topics include: conversational signs, hand formations, basic vocabulary, grammar, fingerspelling, and Deaf culture. You will even learn to sign a song. Anyone who has ever wanted to learn ASL should begin here. This course is eligible for 20 Teacher Professional Development hours.
