Clubs and Organizations

All students are encouraged to participate in the following clubs and organizations! Contact the club advisor for information on meeting times and how you can get involved. New activities are always welcome. Honor Societies

Mu Alpha Theta
Advisor: Joe Phillips, (908) 835-2341

The National Mathematics Honor Society for two-year colleges. Eligible students must:

  • Have had at least one mathematics course at or above the College Algebra/Precalculus level
  • Have a 3.0 GPA overall in all two-year college mathematics courses at or above the College Algebra/Precalculus level.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is the only officially recognized honor society serving students in two-year programs. PTK has existed since 1918, boasts over 1,100 chapters and has inducted over one million students worldwide. Membership is by invitation only. Enrolled students are automatically invited to apply if they meet the minimum membership requirements:

  • Earned at least 12 credits at WCCC, not including remedial or transfer credits
  • Obtained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 at WCCC
  • Matriculated in a degree program

Sigma Chi Eta

The National Honor Society for students who are pursuing an Associate in Liberal Arts, Communication Option. Eligible students must:

  • Have earned at least 12 credits at WCCC; not including remedial or transfer credits.
  • Obtained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 at WCCC.
  • Overall GPA of 3.25 in all Communication (COM) courses taken
  • Completed at least three (3) Communication or Communication related courses at WCCC or a related institution

NAACP

An official chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, whose purpose is to bring public awareness to issues in the community and to develop a new generation of leadership.

Pass It Forward (PIFO) Club

Provides opportunities for students to engage in business activities, discussions pertaining to business practices, processes and management.

Soccer Club

Promotes athletics at WCCC. This co-ed league prepares its members for Intercollegiate Competition.

Student Ambassador/Golden Eagle Program

Students may apply in the Office of Student Services to represent the College as a student ambassador or as the Golden Eagle mascot. Students interested would represent the College at on and off campus events.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association is the student governing body of the campus.

Student Nursing Organization (SNO)

Through this organization, WCCC nursing students collaborate in relationships with nursing and related health organizations. They also participate in community activities that are directed toward improving health care and its related social issues through increasing professional awareness and development.
