
This course prepares you to work in hospitals, home infusions, and community pharmacies. Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of registered pharmacists and assist them in preparing prescriptions, keeping records of drugs used, ordering supplies, and preparing intravenous (IV) packs using sterile techniques. This course will prepare you for National Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certifying Board and includes a 19-hour blended practical experience that is both hospital and retail-based. You are required to visit both Warren and Hackettstown Hospitals and the Medicine Shoppe in Andover, NJ.

Cost: $779 + textbook
PTCB certification fee $129 (optional). Mandatory registration fees for State of NJ to "work" as Pharmacy Technician $120.
Prerequisites: 18 years of age or older, High school diploma or GED, strong basic math skills, and a clear understanding of written and spoken English language, Basic Math Prep Session at WCCC prior to the start of class.
Requirements: Physical examination and TB testing.
