Dr. Phillips is the author of the articles “Radicals: A Monstrous Approach” and “The Jealousy Game,” and the soon to be released textbook, The Animation of Mathematics. Prior to joining the fulltime faculty at WCCC, his work in the aerospace industry, on the Stealth Bomber and numerous Space Shuttle missions, awarded him the highest security clearance. He recently presented, at national mathematics conferences in Las Vegas and Boston, his groundbreaking national research on mathematical symbology. Being a recipient of a 2009-2010 Princeton Fellowship, he continued his research on mathematical symbology whilst conducting post-doctoral studies. Dr. Phillips is also engaged in teacher training. His in-service workshops for Warren County mathematics teachers have been well received with further training sessions planned. Dr. Phillips is the founder and current advisor of WCCC’s chapter of the national mathematics honor society, Mu Alpha Theta. He is also an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Mathematical Association of America, and the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges.
