This 70-hour program is approved by the NJ Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners and includes the following topics:
25 hours of classroom Instruction in x-ray production, processing, quality assurance, radiation biology and safety, radiographic interpretation, and intra/ extra oral exposure techniques, and digital radiography.
15 hours of Laboratory Instruction including mannequin simulation.
30 hours of Clinical Training will be obtained through patient experience in a private dental office that has been identified by the student and approved by the NJ State Department of EnvironmentalÂ Protection.
Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for their licensure exam through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and apply for their NJ Dental X-Ray license.
Requirements for admission: 18 years of age, HS Diploma or equivalent, must be of good moral character, and must be a practicing dental assistant with a sponsoring dental office in New Jersey.
