VENIPUNCTURE SKILLS FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

This 16-hour program is designed to introduce healthcare professionals to phlebotomy skills. The program allows nurses, CMA’s, patient care technicians and other healthcare professionals to acquire the additional skills needed for employment that requires veni/ dermal punctures. Both the theory and technique of venipuncture and dermal punctures will be covered allowing time for simulated lab. Requirements: Must be a health care professional requiring venipuncture skills for employment. Medical lab assistants, LPN’s, RN’s, CMA’s, CNA’s, EMT’s, Dialysis technicians and student/graduate nurses welcome.

NURSING EDUCATION WORKSHOPS

NEW! ADVANCED 12 LEAD EKG INTERPRETATION – ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROMES AND OTHER CARDIAC ABNORMALITIES 
This comprehensive 8-hour cardiology course is for all levels of healthcare practitioners from EKG Technicians, LPN, RN, to Advanced Practice. This program will provide a comprehensive overview of pathophysiology and disease, treatment modalities from angioplasty to bypass, and move into understanding the relationship of normal and abnormal rhythms. In addition, the primary processes related to Adv 12 Lead EKG Interpretation. Opportunities for simulation with case studies will be provided from basic to acute situations creating a mock code scenario as well. Students will participate in the Mock Code and simulate through an evolving case study cardiac experience.

WOUND CARE

This course is appropriate for health professionals who are involved in the care of patients with acute and chronic wounds. The program reviews basic wound care concepts and best practice standards. Additionally, this course is intended to meet the educational needs of professionals who see wound care patients in a variety of care settings including hospital-based clinic, outpatient clinic, office-based practice, inpatient service, home care, urgent care clinic, or emergency department.

THE HEART: PUMP IT UP! 

This comprehensive cardiac course is for all levels of healthcare practitioners from LPN to Advanced Practice.
